Of course you do! Why are we on this topic exactly? Well… Our axolotls just decided to, err… Have hundreds of babies. Yea, we now need to take care of all of them!! Backstory: Day 1: The day all the eggs were laid. The date’s December 13, 2025. These little guys decided to mate and make hundreds of eggs overnight… They are just everywhere, from the mini-tree, to the sponge filters, to even the tubing system! Tell me why they just decided to make all of these babies axolotls! 20251217_103251 20251214_130437 20251213_211154   Day 2: Not much changed. We started to prepare by giving my Fish tank away to dad. We were also learning how to take care of them too! 20251214_130327 20251214_130422 Day 3: The opposite of Day 2! Today, there was a huge change to their appearance. They have tails now! I feel like they are going to hatch before we’re ready! We just started growing their food, Brinshrimp (or a shrimp named Brian), and Daphnia! We learned that they vacuum the food up instead of just eating them up. Since they will also suck up the sand, that means they could die by the sand! We are planning to move them to a larger tank, without the sand after they hatch… 20251215_132604 20251215_132609 Day 6: Still setting up… On the lovely day of 12/22/2025, the babies inside the eggs are moving more than ever! Most of these eggs are still alive. We are going to travel to Grandma’s to celebrate Christmas, but, we better hope that the eggs don’t hatch while we are gone! How are they looking right now? They are looking great so far, they haven’t hatched yet. Which is good for us! We have also set up the fish tanks for the babies, and have their food growing! I’ll keep posting updates on these little guys.   In conclusion, we had those Axolotls lay hundreds of eggs in one night. Now, we have a ton of babies we need to take care of now! Because he literally purrs if I am in the radius of a mile! He likes me (I mean, loves me), and he has a habit of regularly purring since he thinks I’m his safety. So he will only purr when I’m around and not my dad. Since he hates my dad!   After Mochi’s midday purring session, he also loves to sleep with me. He will leap right up to my bed, and right onto me! Then, he will not come down from my bed until I wake up! How crazy is that? He is also very talkative too. He meows when he wants food, he meows to get my attention, he will literally meow through the door too! Nothing stops his meows!   I do respect other peoples opinions about their cats. Backstory Many months ago, We bought 10 chicks off of my 4-H I was a member of!  I had to take care of all of the chicks also. Everybody else also did the same as I did!  The best news I have is that I had 0 deaths in total, which is awesome! Some kids had one death. Others had many deaths!  This means I did excellent while taking care of them! In my 4-H group. I also enrolled as Secretary!! Now, what’s this Auction? This auction was for poultry, and I had to bring 6 of my chicks over to sell them. I had some footage but I’m deciding not to make it public.  It was only the chicks moving around the cage. It was hard on me to let these chicks go.  This is the Document I sent to 4-H: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1g_2JRm4V9k-4FFpk6OZNQrAzqJfEoQ-F44jsTtAnrgQ/edit?usp=sharing DO NOT COPY THIS DOCUMENT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! How it went: as smooth as possible!  It did not bother me too much plus I got 90$ for 6 chickens! Plus, 90$ to 4-H also!  I spent 90 dollars on all 10 chickens!   In conclusion, this was an awesome auction. I didn’t get a single death compared to other kids, and I was able to get 90$ too! ]]> 2083 A trip to Shana’s house: The monstrous ditch! https://trailblazershomeschool.com/a-trip-to-shanas-house-the-monstrous-ditch/ Wed, 22 Oct 2025 19:54:28 +0000 https://trailblazershomeschool.com/?p=2053 Now we get stuck in a ditch after a Nor’Easter? This is getting out of hand! A monster storm hits us while at grandmas! Backstory On October 21st, we had a minor inconvenience, we were not going to be doing a walk today. Possibly a blog post about that, but we had something more wild happen. Apparently, my dad said that we would be going to Shana’s house today to help her out with building a chicken coop. That would be awesome, So I said a big “yes”! And while dad was driving, he asked me about what I was reading last night. Oh boy howdy did I start blabbering! Now, what happened? While we were pulling into the driveway, we drove into a ditch! You may think we were not paying attention, but that wasn’t the case! From his viewpoint, it looked like there wasn’t a ditch there at all! It looked like a perfect spot to park! Until we put the wheel into the ditch… And oh boy did we lift a wheel into the air! It literally went 4 inches off the ground! That was crazy! Plus the subframe made contact with the ground too! But we had serious luck when Shana had some wood to put under the front wheel! So we had her help out, and to our luck, dad was able to gently push the gas pedal and get the wheel to full contact with the ground! We recovered the vehicle without damage! What I learned from this crazy, monstrous ditch was that falling into a ditch is very critical and can damage a car’s oilpan, and alignment. Good thing this wasn’t too bad! The Fall Fest After helping to build the coop with Shana, we decided to drive home. Dad saw that the car did not care about driving into the ditch! That means we didn’t even get an alignment problem! Nor loss of oil pressure! It’s crazy just to think a 250,000 mile vehicle can handle that with essentially no scratches!  At 4:30PM the same day, we went to the Fall Fest at Henderson Perry Memorial Library! And since we helped out Shana, my great friend Theo was able to come over to the Library! There were games, a Trunk&Treat, and even an Arts & Crafts! This event was very awesome and I even was able to make a picture in the Arts&Crafts! Theo was also able to help out with my picture too! A Nor’Easter struck land at New Bern while we were visiting Grandma. It seemed really bad, but New Bern gets hit with flooding frequently.  That means that New Bern is essentially prepared for pretty bad flooding that’s supposed to cost millions in repairs. So, this was a 2-day trip to Grandma’s over the weekend, from the night of October 10th to the 12th of October.  Unfortunately for us, Mumfest was canceled because of the storm coming. No event but lots of flooding downtown! I guess that’s our event right there??? My screen was drenched! Good thing I used my newer phone! My Moto phone (my old phone) is at least 4 years old. It didn’t have the waterproofing anymore for being tore into many times!  (Take a look into this blog post) Fixing my old phone. We saw the setup of the event but it was flooded like crazy! All of the flowers were underwater! Lucky for us we still had power, heck, it was barely even raining where grandma lives. We were like “Where’s the flood?!”, until we drove over to downtown to do our traditional walk. And little did we know, it was heavily flooded! I swear we almost blew away! I was able to get some video of the rogue storm too! In conclusion, Mumfest was replaced by something way crazier, A huge flood! It ruined Mumfest! What a day this was to go see some major flooding!
